Why the kerf matters

Every cut destroys a strip of material as wide as your blade — typically 3 mm on a table saw, 1 mm on a track saw with a thin-kerf blade. Ignore it and a layout that looks perfect on screen comes up short on the last piece.

How the layouts are produced

Only guillotine cuts are used: every cut runs edge to edge across the piece, which is what a table saw or panel saw actually does. Six sorting strategies and three splitting rules are tried, and the best result is kept.

What this does not do

It does not sequence your cuts for you, and it assumes every sheet is identical and defect-free. Check the diagram against your actual sheet before cutting — knots, damaged corners and factory edges are not accounted for.
